Some colors in the cooking oils are harmful to the human health. Hence the main purpose of bleaching is to remove a major part of the coloring pigments by absorption on bleaching earth. Bleaching earth is the ordinary activated bentonite clay. Activated carbon is added with the bleaching earth for appropriate result. Both activated earth and carbon are easily available at everywhere with very low cost.
The process comprises in three stages.
- Initial mixing of oil with bleaching earth.
- Oil heating under vacuum with steam to ensure complete contact between the oil and chemicals.
- Filtration of oil through the filter press after completion of bleaching process.
Bleacher is the closed and strong vessel with special agitation and heating system with steam / thermic oil. Neutralized oil will come in to the bleacher where it will be heated with earth and carbon under the required vacuum and at a required temperature and for required time. Then it will be cooled to avoid the oxidation before the filtration. Filtered and bleached oil will be collected in the bleached oil tank. The cake from filter press is dried by blowing the steam for more recovery. The recovered oil is recycled.
In the bleaching process, we removed the color. Now we came to the final process of deodorizing. It's main purpose is the removal of those substances which are responsible for off flavors and odors. Most of the taste of deodorized or finally refined oil will be automatically destroyed with the removal of odors.
This process is divided in to four stages.
- Heating - Deaeration.
- Deodorization - Steam stripping.
- Heat recovery - Cooling.
- Filtration.
The operation will start with deaeration in the vessel of deodorizer. Bleached oil will come from the bleached oil tank in to the vessel of deodorizer. The first heat is generated by an incoming / out going oil/ steam exchange. The temperature will have been increased as per requirement under the required pressure or high pressure of vacuum. The temperature is depending upon on the type of oil. The real deodorization is take place under the high temperature with steam agitation. The steam is injected through steam ring / coils in the oil. This ensures the turbulent agitation and also increases the temperature. Due to this there will be an even steam distribution on the surface of oil in the vessel. This operation will continue for required time. But it depends upon on the condition of oil.
Then the oil will be transferred in to the cooling vessel under the vacuum. To remove some separated trace elements, cooled oil will be passed through filter press from where finally refined oil is obtained.
Refinery is the second process for cooking oil. The first process is the crushing process to obtain the oil from the oilseeds through big or small oil mills. After the refining process, to use the bi-product like soap stock, a small soap plant can be installed under the same roof.
Both the industries - oil mill and soap plant will add the additional profit with the refinery business. For the more convenient to our valued customers we are also manufacturing the oil mill machinery and soap making machinery suitable for our oil refinery plant WE ARE GIVING VERY USEFUL BOOK FOR THE OIL REFINING PROCESS INCLUDING THE PROPERTIES OF DIFFERENT OILS, FORMULATION FOR COMPLETE PROCESS, PROCESS IN DETAILED ETC.ALONGWITH THE OPERATION MANUAL WITH OUR EACH PLANT.
